Every now and then, I get questions from folks about how do I get my kids to sleep at night? Or how do I get them up in the morning? And I must say, I'm usually baffled by those questions because to me it's straightforward. I'm the parent, they the children. Period. But apparently not everybody follows that mantra.
Both my wife and I's parents are old school. Raised in the country. Raised with kids don't give parents grief. Which means raised with "discipline." And I don't mean go sit in timeout for 5 minutes or go stare at the wall for 10 minutes discipline. I'm talking that sit yo silly ass down before I go get Herman (that's what my Dad called his belt) type discipline. And that my dear readers is the family heirloom that gets passed down from generation to generation.
So for those struggling with wake up and night time portion of the day with the kiddos, I invite you to watch the first few minutes of this classic Bernie Mac episode. Gotta treat those kids like prison convicts Wanda!
